Accredited Standards Committee T1 Telecommunications - Sponsored by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions and accredited by the American National Standards Institute to create network interconnections and interoperability standards for the United States. 
Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions - Sponsored by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions and accredited by the American National Standards Institute to create network interconnections and interoperability standards for the United States. 
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) - Administrator and coordinator of the United States private sector voluntary standardization system. 
American Registry for Internet Number (ARIN) - is a non-profit organization for administration and registration of Internet Protocol (IP) numbers for the following geographical areas: North America, South America, the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa. 
ATM/Frame Relay Forum - an association of vendors, carriers, users and consultants committed to the education, promotion, and implementation of Frame Relay in accordance with international standards.
Bluetooth Special Interest Group - Founded by Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba, Bluetooth is determined to take the necessary action to make technology a global standard for wireless connectivity. 
British Approvals Board for Telecommunications (BABT) - is a private, independent company and the leading telecommunications approval body in Europe. 
Common Carrier Bureau - The Common Carrier Bureau is responsible for administering the FCC's policies concerning telephone companies that provide long distance and local service to consumers.
Competition Bureau - administer and enforces telemarketing in Canada
Computer Incident Advisory - provides on-call technical assistance and information to Department of Energy (DOE) sites faced with computer security incidents. This central incident handling capability is one component of all encompassing service provided to the DOE community. The other services are: awareness, training, and education; trend, threat, vulnerability data collection and analysis; and technology watch. 
Enterprise Computer Telephony Forum (ECTF)  - facilitates standardized computer telephony systems. 
European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI)  - a non-profit organization whose mission is to determine and produce e telecommunications standards.  
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) - encourages competition in all communications markets and to protect the public interest.
GO-MVIP - the Global Organization for Multi-Vendor Integration Protocol is a multi-national, multi-vendor industry group. 
GPRS Applications Alliance - refer to the Mobile Applications Initiative (MAI). 
Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) - technical objectives center on advancing the theory and practice of electrical, electronics, and computer engineering and science.
Institute for Telecommunication Sciences - research and engineering arm of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
International Telecommunications Union (ITU) - formerly the International Consultative Committee for Radio (CCIR) and International Consultative Committee on Telegraphy & Telephony (CCITT) is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and is and international organization within which governments and the private sector coordinate global telecom networks and services.
International Standards Organization (ISO) - a non-governmental organization established in 1947. Its mission is to promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services. 
International Telecommunications Union  - headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, The ITU is the leading publisher of telecommunication technology, regulatory and standards information. 
Internet Architecture Board (IAB)  - a technical advisory group of the Internet Society. 
Internet Assigned Numbers Authority - the central coordinating functions of the global Internet. 
Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) - an open international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of the Internet architecture and the smooth operation of the Internet.
Internet Request for Comments - documents the written definitions of the protocols and policies of the Internet.
Internet Research Task Force - promotes research of importance to the evolution of the future Internet by creating focused, long-term and small Research Groups working on topics related to Internet protocols, applications, architecture and technology. 
Internet Societal Task Force - identifies ways in which the Internet can be a positive force in social and economic dimensions. 
Internet Society - provides leadership in addressing issues that confront the future of the Internet, and is the organization home for the groups responsible for Internet infrastructure standards. 
Internet Telephony Consortium - firms and academics who collaborate on research into technical, economic, strategic and policy issues that arise from the convergence of telecommunications and the Internet. 
Mobile Applications Initiative (MAI)- The Ericsson Mobile Applications Initiative (MAI) Members Program enables Members to develop, promote, and market their products, services, and solutions that operate in a GPRS enabled Mobile Internet environment. In the near future, MAI will also be able to assist in efforts to evolve applications to support the future Mobile Internet technologies of EDGE and WCDMA - and also to assist in the creation of applications built specifically for these technologies.
National Academies of Emergency Dispatch -  a standard-setting organization for all aspects of Emergency Dispatch.
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) - established by Congress to assist industry in the development of technology, to improve product quality, to modernize manufacturing processes, to ensure product reliability, and to facilitate rapid commercialization of products based on new scientific discoveries.

Underwriters Laboratory
- is an independent, not-for-profit product safety testing and certification organization.  
WAP Forum: Industry organization for the Wireless Application Protocol standard, which allows for the delivery of applications and content to networked appliances.
Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) - handles all FCC domestic wireless telecommunications programs and policies, except those involving satellite communications or broadcasting, including licensing, enforcement, and regulatory functions. Wireless communications services include cellular telephone, paging, personal communications services, public safety, and other commercial and private radio services. The Bureau also is responsible for implementing the competitive bidding authority for spectrum auctions, given to the Commission by the 1993 Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.
World Wide Web Consortium - founded in October 1994 to lead the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing common protocols that promote its evolution and ensure its interoperability.
